Sofia Vergara confirmed her marriage ended due to Joe Manganiello’s desire to have children, but the actress hasn’t had anything to say since then amid reports he wants to start a family with and get married to his new girlfriend.
“They’re going to get engaged soon [and then] start trying for kids,” a source told Us Weekly. “Marriage is definitely in their future.”

Joe, 47, was first linked to Caitlyn O’Connor, 34, shortly after filing to divorce Sofia, who’s nearly two decades older than his current girlfriend.
“Well, I’m newly divorced from my second husband, who I was with for 10 years. My marriage broke up because my husband was younger,” Sofia, 51, said to Spanish newspaper El País in January. “He wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom.” Sofia already has a son in his thirties from a previous relationship.
While Sofia hasn’t commented on Joe’s new relationship, other reports claimed the Modern Family alum is struggling to see her ex move on so quickly as well as publicly.
“Joe’s not trying to rub it in Sofía’s face,” an insider told OK! Magazine. “But he does feel like enough time has passed.”

However, the actress claims the lawsuit is only an attempt to extort her for money and that she doesn't owe anything.“She’s clearly still upset,” they continued. “Especially now that Joe’s publicly showing off his new, younger girlfriend.”
The same source said that Joe moving on may be the motivation Sofia needs to move on; she has, indeed, been seen on various dates in recent months, showing she’s putting in an effort. “Who knows, though, maybe seeing Joe move on will encourage her to do so, too,” the source added.
Joe And Sofia Broke Up Because They Disagreed On Having Kids
A different source said Joe was never interested in having a dramatic divorce. The couple had a prenup, which seemed to clearly divide their assets despite Sofia’s much-higher net worth (Joe has since been seen living in a more budget-friendly apartment since finalizing their divorce). Perhaps the biggest source of contention was custody of their dog, Bubbles, which Joe eventually won.
"Joe wants the divorce to go as clean as possible,” the source explained. “He would love as little drama [as possible] to come from it. Joe is ready to date, ready to move on, ready to have fun again and fall in love with someone.”
"He never wanted to be single, he thought Sofía was the one,” they continued. “But he knows that since it didn't work with Sofía he is getting to a better place within himself to move on to make someone else happy, which in turn will make him happy.”
Joe and Sofia married in 2015 within less than a year of dating. They were apparently on the same page about not having kids, but it seems Joe changed his mind, as Sofia admits it was the topic that eventually ended their nearly decade-long relationship
