This love song is over. Pop singer Richard Marx and his wife, actress and singer Cynthia Rhodes, are divorcing after 25 years of marriage, Marx's rep confirms to Us Weekly.
The couple separated in July and are currently in the process of divorcing, his rep adds.
Marx, 50, found success with his popular '80s and '90s ballads including "Hold On to the Nights" and "Right Here Waiting." The Grammy winner and Rhodes first met in 1983 while working on the film, Staying Alive, in which the actress played John Travolta's love interest.
Rhodes, 57, rose to fame in the '80s for her roles in movies like Dirty Dancing and Flashdance. She starred in Marx's "Don't Mean Nothing" music video in 1987.
The couple got married in 1989 and settled down in the Chicago suburb of Lake Bluff with their three sons, Brandon, 23, Lucas, 21, and Jesse, 20.
The announcement of their divorce was first made on Katie Friday, April 4, when host Katie Couric remarked Marx was "back on the market."
"How are you feeling about dating?" Couric asked her guest.
