He revealed during the reunion, "The best way that I can describe it is after the show was over, at a party or any kind of social gathering, if one of us bumped into each other, that was it. That was the end of the night. You just sat with the person all night long and that was it."

Perry continued, "You apologized to the people you were with, but they had to understand you had met somebody special to you and you were going to talk to that person for the rest of the night. And that’s the way it worked."

Matthew Perry Revealed He Had Emergency Dental Surgery Just Prior To Friends Reunion

During an interview with ABC News, Matthew Perry revealed the real reason his speech seemed off during the Friends reunion. The actor told Diane Sawyer, "A couple days before that, I had emergency dental surgery, which did all sorts of things," Perry said.

"The dental surgery just made my mouth feel like fire and it sounded like my voice was off. And I couldn’t not show up. So what I chose to do was go and just do the best that I could."

That's right, the Friends star almost missed the reunion show. In a separate interview with Stephen Colbert, the actor revealed he was actually thankful for the paparazzi catching him walking into the dentist office just prior to the reunion.

He tells Colbert, "I had two days prior to death dental surgery. I had three bone spurs in my mouth that had to be removed right away. In this one cast I thank the paparazzi because they caught picture of me going into the dentist office."

He continues, "I knew something was off with me because my mouth was on fire and I also knew that I had to show up at this reunion. There's so many people, I can't move it, I can't change it. So I basically went and did the best that I could but I was basically on six cylinders instead of eight."
